Batavia (IL) junior outside linebacker recruit Michael Jansey Jr. (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) has been adding several scholarship offers so far including adding his latest offer on Monday after visiting Miami of Ohio. Jansey Jr. recaps his latest recruiting news and more here.
"It seems like my recruiting is all starting to come together really well," Jansey Jr. said. "My latest offers from from Miami of Ohio, Kent State, Eastern Kentucky, Cornell and Wyoming."
Jansey Jr. made a Presidents Day campus visit to Miami of Ohio.
"Miami of Ohio was awesome. The coaches at Miami were very welcoming and the facilities were really nice. The coaching staff really stood out on my visit. They just are straight forward with me. I like that approach and it was great to get an offer from Miami of Ohio."
Jansey Jr. is also in touch with a growing list of several schools this winter.
"Besides the schools who have offered me so far I'm also in touch with Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska plus some of the SEC schools are starting to follow me on Twitter. It's just pretty exciting and it really is all coming together."
Does Jansey Jr. have any additional visit plans?
"I'm planning to go visit Iowa State this coming weekend. I'm also set to visit Iowa on March 4th. I also want to get out to visit both Illinois and Northwestern soon."
So what does Jansey Jr. look for when he makes a campus visit?
"I'm looking for a good academic fit and also just finding a place that feels like home. I also like to get to know the coaches and just get a feel for the overall culture and atmosphere."
Michael Jansey Jr. has scholarship offers from Central Michigan, Ball State, Toledo, Illinois State, Iowa State, Western Michigan, Princeton, Cornell. Kent State, Miami of Ohio, Wyoming, Illinois State and Eastern Kentucky.
