2017 results: 9-3 (5-1) South Suburban Blue Conference. Hillcrest made the Class 5A state playoff field. The Hawks defeated Peoria and Glenwood before losing to Dunlap in the quarterfinal round.

Did you know...that Hillcrest Hawks have now made back to back state playoff appearances (2016/2017) for the first time since the 2008/2009 seasons. The Hawks head coach Morgan Weaver is also a Hillcrest alum (Class of 2010) who played his college football at Winona State.

EDGYTIM's Way Too Early Take on the 2018 Hillcrest Hawks? The Hawks had a nice team and unfortunately ran into a hot team in Dunlap in Dunlap to end the 2017 season. If the Hawks can fill some needs at a few key spots (QB/OL/LB) open from graduation, Hillcrest will have another good chance of getting into the state playoff field in 2018.

Keep an Eye on: The Hawks have some real talent back for the 2018 season. Senior WR Corey Crooms is a speedy and athletic kid who has already drawn some FBS offers and recruiting attention. Also senior DE/TE Cam Mattox (NIU commit) is an impact player for the Hawks defense who needs to be accounted for on every play.
