Lake Forest (IL) sophomore defensive end prospect Rylie Mills (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) was named as one of the top performers at Monday's EDGYTIM Underclassmen Showcase powered by EWFT Football Academy. Mills talks about his performance, his latest recruiting news and more in this update.

"It was a really good showcase," Mills said. "I liked it a lot and it was just awesome to get the chance to go against kids from all over. I felt that I did pretty well in one on ones and I was able to get in a lot of good work."

Mills, who is also taking final exams this week has started to already draw some various recruiting looks.

"I've been in touch with a handful of college coaches. Tennessee has been interested in me and they invited me to come and visit them soon for a Junior Day event. Minnesota has also been in school and they also invited me to a Junior Day on January 27th. I also have been to Notre Dame for visits. I went to a few different games at Notre Dame. I also have started staying in touch with the coaches from Northwestern and Michigan State."

Mills, who has been focused on his training this winter discussed what his focus has been on improving his overall game this winter.

"My goal this off season is to become just a more athletic player. I'm working hard on being more agile, quicker and also play with more power. I'm also trying to just increase my overall numbers when it comes to lifting and getting stronger."

Mills, who has played both defensive tackle and defensive end for his high school also is pretty open when it comes to an eventual college position.

"I have played all over the defensive line and I'm very open when it comes to a position in college. Some people feel I will be more of a hybrid rush end and others see me as more of a defensive tackle. I'm just going to keep working hard and keep trying to get better and I'll let the college coaches decide where they want me to play. "
