DB Blankenbaker to Wyoming

Oak Park-River Forest (Ill.) senior cornerback recruit Keyon Blankenbaker (5-foot-10, 170 pounds) decided to end his recruiting process last night and gave Wyoming his verbal commitment. Blankenbaker talks about his decision here.

"I made an official visit to Wyoming a few weeks ago," Blankenbaker said. "I loved it on my visit and I pretty much knew after that visit I was ready to commit. I took some time just to give everything some thought and I called up the Wyoming coaches tonight (Tuesday) and committed."

Blankenbaker talked about why he decided to pledge to the Wyoming Cowboys.

"Everyone just made me feel very welcomed at Wyoming. I really like the Wyoming coaches and they also recruited me really hard. I was just impressed with the overall atmosphere at Wyoming. I was able to get out to a game earlier in the season and it's just an outstanding game day atmosphere at Wyoming. In the end I can just see myself playing at Wyoming, getting a great education and just having a great college experience."

So which schools did Blankenbaker also consider?

"I had offers from both Cincinnati and North Dakota State and I gave both schools some serious thought. In the end I just felt like Wyoming really recruited me the hardest and overall Wyoming is just a great fit for me in the end."

Blankenbaker is also thrilled to have his recruiting process completed.

"Yeah I'm glad it's all over. I honestly just didn't like the recruiting process at all. It's just a lot of phone calls and back and forth with coaches and schools. I'm just very happy about Wyoming."

Keyon Blankenbaker is verbally committed to Wyoming.
