DE Ezell impressed on Sunday

LaGrange Park (IL) Lyons Township junior defensive end prospect Andrew Ezell (6-foot-2, 255 pounds) was easily one of the top overall performers at Sunday's Boom Midwest linemen Trench Warfare event. Ezell checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.

"This (Trench Warfare) was a really good event," Ezell said. "I liked how the coaches had a lot of different events and drills. It was fun to just go out and compete against kids from all over the area."

Ezell was able to show a terrific mix of speed and power on Sunday.

"The coaches said some nice things about my performance and they felt I was one of the best overall kids. It felt good to just go out and compete against a lot of good competition. It was also nice to mix things up and I liked the different events that Trench Warfare featured. I had a good day and felt I did pretty well. it just makes me want to keep working harder and getting better."

Ezell also recapped his latest recruiting news.

"I've been in touch with schools like SIU, Minnesota State plus North Dakota State, Iowa, Miami of Ohio and some smaller schools. I'm looking at visiting a few schools like SIU and North Dakota State. NDSU has a camp in late May so I might wait until then to visit them."

Ezell is also expecting to draw several recruiting looks and in school evaluations this spring.

"A lot of the college coaches feel I can play a few different positions in college. I'm pretty open to playing anywhere on the field. Some schools like me as a defensive end, but others think I can play as a linebacker or as a defensive tackle."
