DL Aguirre hops onboard

Joliet (Ill.) Catholic Academy senior defensive tackle recruit Ken Aguirre (6-foot-2, 280 pounds) gave Western Michigan his verbal commitment last Saturday night. Aguire talks about his college choice here.
"I'm pretty excited about my choice," Aguirre said about his verbal commitment to Western Michigan. "I knew for awhile that I wanted to go to Western Michigan but I waited a bit to decide. Looking back I just always felt that I was wanted the most and recruited the hardest by WMU."

Aguirre, who is gearing up for the start of the state playoffs on Friday night talked about why he pledged to WMU.
"Western Michigan offers great academics and I just love the team. The coaches are also great guys and WMU is also pretty close to home. I want my family and friends to see me play in college and it's only a few hours away from home. WMU really recruited me the hardest and made me feel welcomed and needed. I just made the best decision of me in Western Michigan."
Aguirre also pointed towards WMU head coach PJ Fleck as another big factor in his decision.
"Coach Fleck is just an amazing person and coach. He has such energy and a passion and I just want to be around that all the time. I can see myself playing for him and the rest of the coaches at Western Michigan."
Aguirre will now focus on the upcoming state playoffs. Joliet Catholic (8-1) opens up this Friday night against Vernon Hills in the 5A state playoff field.
"I'm happy about my decision and now I can just focus on school and the playoffs. We play Vernon Hills Friday and I'm ready. I'm just gonna keep rowing the boat."
