LeRoy talked about why he pledged to the NIU Huskies.
"It's really everything that NIU has to offer that appealed to me. NIU is a strong football program that offers a great education. I get along great with the coaches and the guys on the team. I just walk around the campus and everyone is just so friendly. NIU is just a great fit for me and I was able to find that perfect fit at NIU. I talked it over with my family and they also are excited about my decision. NIU is just a great fit and I feel very comfortable at NIU so I decided why wait to make a decision."
LeRoy is also thrilled to have his decision completed.
"I'm glad it's over. NIU is less than two hours away from home so my family and friends will be able to see me play in college. It's just a great fit and I'm just ready to play for NIU in college."
LeRoy, who is the first known verbal commitment to the NIU Huskies in the Class of 2016 is also ready to become lead recruiters for NIU.
"I definitely want to get out and talk to some recruits. I want to help NIU bring in a great recruiting class."
Ben LeRoy is verbally committed to Northern Illinois University.
