Evans is drawing new offers/looks
LaGrange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy junior defensive back recruit Diamond Evans (6-foot-0, 185 pounds) has been one of the more consistently strong performers at various camps and showcase events this off season. Diamond has finally started to draw more recruiting looks including pick up four recent scholarship offers.
"I have offers now from North Dakota State, North Dakota, Western Illinois and also South Dakota State," Evans said. "My recruiting has just really picked up over the past few weeks and it feels good."
Evans, who has been a multi-positional player for Nazareth Academy filled us in on his latest offers and new recruiting attention.
"Besides the schools who have offered me, I've also been in contact with the coaches from Minnesota, Iowa, Miami of Ohio and Iowa State. Michigan has sent mail and also Missouri was in school and they have also sent me mail. A lot of the schools who haven't offered me all want to see me in a camp this summer."
So why the sudden recruiting attention for Evans?
"We've seen a lot of college coaches in school and a lot of those coaches have come and watched one of our team workouts. The college coaches have told me that they like \d my workouts and just needed to see my speed in person. A lot of those same schools who are in contact with me have been on and off with recruiting. They contacted me early on then just stopped but have all picked things back up again. The coaches all said they liked my junior video and that seeing me in workout just backs up what they saw from me on tape."
Evans is starting to sort out his upcoming summer plans.
"I don't have any college camp plans just yet. I'm going to sit down over the next week or so and set up some camps. I'm looking at going to Yale for a camp in July. I'm also sure I'll go to one or more of the North Central College satellite camps along with a few others."
Evans is also hoping to include a few visits as well this summer.
"I'm going to head out to visit the North Dakota on June 21st. I'm also going to try to see North Dakota State and also South Dakota State while I'm out that way."
