First offer in for LB Vandenburgh

Freeport (Ill.) junior outside linebacker recruit Zeke Vandenburgh (6-foot-3, 211 pounds) was able to add his first offer earlier this week from South Dakota State. Vandenburgh checks in and talks about adding his first offer and more here.

"It feels great to get my first offer from South Dakota State," Vandenburgh said. "The SDSU coaches had been in school this spring and really liked my overall game."

So what does Vandenburgh know about the South Dakota State Jackrabbits?

"I know that SDSU plays in the Missouri Valley conference and that's one of the best conferences at the FCS level. South Dakota State has been to the FCS playoffs over the past few seasons and I also know they have newer facilities. I also know that the head coach (John Stieglemeyer) has been the coach for almost 20 years. I definitely will get out to visit SDSU this summer."

Vandenburgh also has some summer college camp dates planned.

"I'm planning to camp at Northwestern on June 5th and I'm also going back to Northwestern on June 11th for the showcase camp. I'm also going to Western Michigan on June 8th and then Iowa on June 12th. I'm also going to camp at Western Illinois and then I'll also camp at North Dakota State the third week in June. I'll stop and visit at South Dakota State either before or after that NDSU camp."

Does Vandenburgh have a time frame for making a college decision at all at this stage?

"I'm going to focus on the camps in June. Once we get to July things are pretty slow for me that month. I'm going to really focus on my options in July and ideally I'd like to make a decision before the start of the season."

Zeke Vandenburgh has a scholarship offer from South Dakota State.
