Gibson City-Melvin Sibley (Ill.) junior punter/kicker prospect Ben Freehill (6-foot-1, 160 pounds) has been drawing increased recruiting attention this spring. Freehill, who is one of the state's best punters checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news and more in this recruiting update..

"Recruiting has been going pretty well," Freehill said. "I just went to Iowa for a visit and I've also been in touch with a lot of different college coaches."

Freehill discusses his Iowa spring game visit.

"I went to the Iowa spring game and I've made three separate visits now to Iowa. The visit went really well and the Iowa coaches seem very interested in me. I was able to watch the spring game and also talk with some of the Iowa coaches. They want me to come back and camp with them this summer. The Iowa coaches also said that they would be stopping into my school soon. "

So who else has been showing recruiting attention towards Freehill?

"Besides Iowa I've been in touch with Illinois State, Purdue, Minnesota, Holy Cross and Cornell. I've visited Illinois State already and Purdue just sent me a camp invite. Holy Cross will be in school in early May and I know that we are expecting more college coaches to visit over the next few weeks. I've made visits to Iowa and Illinois State so far and I'm planning to see more schools in person this summer."

Freehill is also starting to line up a busy summer camp schedule.

"It seems like every school wants me to come and camp with them this summer. I'm going to camp for surer at Iowa, Purdue plus Illinois State along with the Lindenwood (D2) megacamp that will have a lot of coaches along with camping at Minnesota."

Does Freehill have a dream school?

"I didn't really have a dream school to be honest, but after visiting Iowa they just pretty much blew me away. Iowa would definitely be a dream school for me."
