It's Yale for Awodiran

Chicago (Ill.) Marist three star ranked inside linebacker recruit Micah Awodiran (6-foot-1, 215 pounds) decided to end his recruiting process today and gave Yale his verbal commitment. Awodiran, who was touting well over 20 BCS level scholarship offers this summer discusses his decision here .

"I just wanted to tell you I gave Yale my verbal commitment," Awodiran said. "Yale for me is just the best fit over the next 4-5 years and academically and athletically it's the best place for me."

Awodiran, who had narrowed down his list of favorites to Yale along with Illinois, Duke and Vanderbilt pointed towards the unique environment that he found on a recent visit to Yale.

"Yale just offers such a unique experience both on and off the field. It's just a close knit family at Yale and I was able to spend time around the football program as well as just talking to students and teachers. I've always placed a high value on academics as well as athletics and Yale is a great fit."

Awodiran was hoping to make his final decision a few weeks ago.

"I wanted to make my decision a few weeks ago but I just felt like I wanted to take a little more time. I really gave everything a lot of thought and talked things over with my family and coaches. I didn't want to make my decision and have any uncertainty so I'm glad I took that extra time."

Awodiran is also thrilled to have completed his recruiting process.

"I'm relieved. The whole process was stressful at times. I'm just ready to go and I'm excited about my decision. I can just focus on my team and my senior season."

Micah Awodiran is verbally committed to Yale.
