Lees, who was verbally pledged to the Miami Redhawks since the early spring talked about his decision to pledge to the Northwestern Wildcats.
"Northwestern is my dream school. I've watched them since I was a little kid. I went to visit them and I didn't expect to get an offer whatsoever. I love Miami and Coach Chuck Martin and it was a very hard call for me to make. I felt that I needed to make this decision. It's not everyday that your dream school offers you a scholarship. Between playing in the Big Ten, being 45 minutes from home, the overall academics and just the chance to play at Northwestern I couldn't say no. My family is totally on board. It's been a crazy day and it's very hard to put into words just how I feel right now. It's just amazing."
Lees, who plays quarterback for Libertyville will play wide receiver at Northwestern.
"I've been pretty much an athlete type in my recruiting so playing receiver isn't a big deal."
