OL DePriest is in demand
Farmington (Ill.) junior offensive/defensive linemen recruit Jarod DePriest (6-foot-4, 280 pounds) has been able to add four recent scholarship offers and has also continued to draw even more recruiting attention this winter. DePriest recaps his latest football recruiting news and more here.
"I have four scholarship offers now," Gonzalez said. "I have offers now from Illinois State, Eastern Kentucky, South Dakota State and also SIU offered me late last week."
DePriest, who played on both sides of the line in 2017 for the Farmers also has been in touch with several schools so far this winter.
"Besides the schools who have offered me I've also been staying in touch with some other schools. I've been in contact with the coaches from Illinois, Iowa, Eastern Illinois and also Austin Peay. The schools just wanted to get to know me and to let me know they are recruiting me. Several of those coaches have said that they want me to come and visit them sometime soon."
DePriest is also hoping to get out to make some college visits soon.
"I was able to visit Illinois back in January. I'm hoping to get out to visit Iowa sometime soon. I'm sure I'll also get out to see more schools in person once the spring gets here. I'm sure I'll get out to visit some of the schools who have offered me a scholarship."
DePriest, who also played basketball for Farmington this winter discussed what he's working on to improve his game this winter.
"I've been working on improving my overall technique and my footwork this winter. I feel that I have good overall strength and power and that I also have good quickness for a kid my size. My coaches have always said that I'm pretty athletic for a bigger guy and I just want to improve everything for next season."
Does DePriest have a dream school?
"I have a lot of family in Wisconsin and the Badgers have always been my main team growing up."
Jacob DePriest has scholarship offers from Illinois State, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois and Eastern Kentucky.
