OL Harper II is off and running
Homewood (IL) Flossmoor sophomore offensive guard recruit Marcus Harper II (6-foot-4, 285 pounds) has been able to add his first three offers over the past few weeks. Harper II continues drawing more looks so far during the spring evaluation period and recaps his latest recruiting news here.
"It's been a blessing (adding three offers) and it makes me just work harder," Harper II said. "Western Michigan offered me first a few weeks ago. Last week I added offers from both Toledo and then Cincinnati and we've been seeing a lot of college coaches in school over the last week or two."
Harper II recapped his recent in school visitors along with which schools have started to take notice of him this spring.
"Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan came in school recently along with the coaches from Iowa State, Northwestern, Duke and Boston College. It's just been a lot of different coaches in school to see myself and my teammates. It's been pretty exciting."
Has Harper II made any college visits?
"I was able to make a visit back in March to Michigan State. My family and I just got into the car and drove out to see the school. We just looked around and one of the Michigan State coaches gave us a tour. Michigan State was really big and pretty impressive. They have a huge weight room and a great indoor facility."
Harper II has continued to work on improving his overall game this spring.
"I've been focusing hard on just getting bigger, stronger and faster. I've been focused on my overall technique and improving my pass pro. I would say that one of my strengths is that I run pretty well for my size and I can get out of my stance and pull quickly."
Does Harper II have any upcoming camp plans?
"I'm definitely planning to get out to a few college camps this summer. I'm planning to go to the Lindenwood Megacamp on June 2nd and I'm sure I'll ad a few more camps soon."
Does Harper II have a dream school?
"My dream school would be either Clemson or Ohio State. Both schools have great football programs and they both send a lot of guys to the NFL."
Marcus Harper II has scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Western Michigan and Toledo.
