OL Wentworth has new options

Minooka (Ill.) senior offensive guard recruit Derek Wentworth (6-foot-3, 275 pounds) and the Indians (7-1) are having a terrific season. Wentworth has also been able to add some recent offers and checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.

"Everyone thought we would be like a 6-3 or 5-4 team at best," Wentworth said. "I thought we would have a great season and I said that at the beginning of the year. I just had a really good feeling about this team."

Wentworth filled us in on how the Indians have been able to turn around it's program so far this fall.

"No one is just playing for themselves anymore. Everyone is playing for each other and we have great coaches obviously and that's also been a big factor. Our senior leadership has really stepped up and that started in the summer. All of the seniors really got on guys hard and we had separate meeting and workouts without the coaches in the summer. It's exciting now that the whole community is on board and everyone is excited for the rest of the season and the playoffs."

Wentworth also added some recent offers.

"I've been able to add new offers from Bemidji State, McKendree, Indiana Wesleyan and Minnesota-Mankato seems close to offering. I also still stay in contact with Illinois State, SIU and UConn. Those schools asked for my transcripts and they also keep asking for more senior video."

Will Wentworth take any official visits soon?

"I'm planning on an official visit to Bemidji State on November 10th. I'm also going to set an official visit to St. Cloud State soon."
