Patterson wraps up camp season

Chicago (Ill.) Solorio junior quarterback recruit Quincy Patterson (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) wrapped up his summer college camp tour this past Saturday at the College of DuPage satellite camp featuring the coaches from Indiana. Patterson, who drew personal coaching from IU head coach Kevin Wilson talks about his summer camps and more here.

"This was my last college camp for the year (on Saturday)," Patterson said. "I wound up going to six different camps this summer and overall they all offered a positive experience for me."

Patterson discussed his camp experience last Saturday at the College of DuPage satellite camp.

"It was a good camp and was also a lot of fun. It was a bit different from some of the other camps because this camp had a ton of junior college guys in the camp. You can see the age difference in some of those guy but that also made the competition better at the camp. I had a chance to work one on one with head coach Kevin Wilson along with Ben (Bryant Lyons Township) . Coach Wilson wanted to work with us on passing the football as opposed to just throwing it. We did some touch pass drills and it was just great to have some time working with the head coach at Indiana. After the camp the IU coaches said I did well and that they want me to stay in touch with them."

Patterson also reflected on his just completed college camps.

"I ended up camping at North Central College for two satellite camps along with Northwestern, Illinois, Penn State then Indiana coaches at College of DuPage. Overall the college camp became a good experience. I was able to improver and focus more on my mechanics and footwork. Each coach at the camps took time to help me with my quarterbacking skills which was great. I also enjoyed just getting to know the coaches along with competing against some really good players. Overall the college camps are a good experience."

So what's next for Patterson this summer?

"I'm still working with my team this summer and we are working pretty hard. We have some younger guys this season but we have a chance to be a pretty good team. I'm also going to stay in touch with the college coaches. I'm sure I'll get a chance this season to get out to watch some college games in person."

Quincy Patterson has scholarship offers from Illinois, Penn State and New Mexico.
