Plenty of visitors for Pelland

Gurnee (Ill.) Warren Township junior defensive linemen recruit Zack Pelland (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) has a dozen scholarship offers so far this spring. Pelland has also seen a steady flow of college coaches in school over the past few weeks. Pelland breaks down his latest recruiting news here.

"I have 12 offers now," Pelland said. "My latest offer comes from Stephen F Austin and I've also been seeing a lot of different college coaches in school over the past few weeks."

Pelland ran down his growing list of recent in school visitors.

"We've seen a lot of college coaches in school so far. Northwestern, Michigan State Boston College, Eastern Michigan and North Dakota State have all been in school this week. Some of the coaches come and watch our team workout and others just come into school and talk to my head coach (Bryan McNulty). Most of the coaches who haven't offered me yet want me to stay in touch and come camp with them this summer."

Pelland is also starting to line up his spring and summer camp plans.

"I was invited to both the Under Armour camp and the Rivals Three Stripe camp so I'll be at both of those camps. I'm also looking at camping this summer at the Northwestern showcase camp, the Michigan State elite camp plus the NIU Friday Night Lights camp. NIU is actually looking at me as a tight end recruit so I'll go and work out at tight end for them."

Has Pelland begun to narrow down his list of favorite schools?

"I'm definitely starting to wrap my mind around narrowing it down. I'm still looking to make a college decision before the start of the season. I'm looking for a great mix of high academics and football and which school can offer the best overall fit for both."
