Poll: Chicagoland Top 30

EFT Football Academy

EDGYTIM.com Week 6 Chicagoland Top 30 poll

1. Loyola Academy (1) (6-0) No question in my mind who's #1. It's the Ramblers. Yet beatable? Everyone is beatable in 2016.

2. Homewood-Flossmoor (2) (6-0)- WR Ty Richie (NIU) is having quite the year.

3. Brother Rice (3) (6-0)- The defense? Ok but hey how about that Rice offense huh?

4. Palatine (4) (6-0)- Close call win over Fremd, but a much needed hurdle to overcome here for the Pirates.

5. Lincoln-Way East (5) (5-1)- Making it look easy as of late. That changes in Week 8.

6. Neuqua Valley (6) (6-0)- We know the bigger names for the Wildcats but this team is much more than a handful of bigger names.

7. Lyons Township (7) (6-0)- Yet another big test at home Friday night against Hinsdale Central. It's Central week.

8. Prairie Ridge (8) (6-0)- So much for that Week 6 test...and how does a running team post 62 points in a game anyways?

9. Hinsdale Central (9) (6-0)- HUGE homecoming win on Saturday over Glenbard West yet don't rest now Red Devils.

10. Oak Park-River Forest (10) (6-0)- The road gets very bumpy (and muddy?) starting Saturday on the Shores of Lake Ellyn.

11. Marist (11) (5-1)-The Redhawks defense is rounding into shape. Overlook Naz this week? Nah I don't think so.

12. Barrington (13) (6-0)- It's getting closer...so much closer.

13. Maine South (15) (4-2)- 77 straight conference wins and growing. Can the Trevians end the Hawks streak?

14. Glenbard West (12) (4-2)- When was the last time the Hitters lost two straight games? 2006.

15. Stevenson (16) (5-1)- Why aren't more people talking about QB Aidan O'Connell? Wait... I just did.

16. Naperville North (14) (5-1)- The Huskies take on rival Naperville Central at North Central College on Friday.

17. Glenbard North (17) (4-2)- RB Vittorio Tricase just keeps going...and going...and going.

18. Cary-Grove (18) (5-1)- The Trojans defense hasn't allowed more than 14 points in any game since Week 1.

19. Bradley (19) (6-0)- The Boilermakers will be a very tough draw for anyone in 7A.

20. Fenwick (20) (5-1)- The Friars get another test on Friday hosting a must win Providence Catholic team.

21. Phillips (21) (5-1)- Big game this week against Raby and a much needed test for the Wildcats? Could this be the last game before a potential CPL teachers strike?

22. St. Charles East (23) (6-0)- Look the Saints offense won't usually light up scoreboards. It's about punishment..as in punishing opposing defenses with it's run game.

23. Oswego (29) (6-0)-Maybe one of the top defenses I've seen this season. Panthers defense can go toe to toe with several comers.

24. Immaculate Conception (25) (6-0)- 3A again for the Knights? This will be fun to watch.

25. Batavia (26) (5-1) Nice bounce back win over rival Geneva...now can the Bulldogs get it's swagger back?

26. Lemont (27) (6-0)- Quietly winning games and putting together a very strong team for the post-season. The Student versus Teacher Bowl is this weekend.

27. St. Laurence (28) (5-1)- This team could win a 6A title. Just let that one sink in kids.

28. Benet Academy (30) (5-1)- RB Marty Dosen rolls up big yards in a win over Marian Catholic.

29. Lake Zurich (NR) (5-1)- Wasn't sure about these Bears but last Friday's win over Lake Forest was a biggie.

30. Rolling Meadows (NR) (6-0)- The Mustangs just win baby.
