Proposed IHSA Playoff Change?

A total of 28 by-law amendment proposals were received prior to the deadline from principals/official representatives of IHSA member schools.

The IHSA Legislative Commission will review the proposals at its first meeting on Monday, November 6. Then the proposals will be discussed at town meetings held at various sites throughout the state between November 8 and 16. The Commission will reassemble on Monday, November 20, to decide whether to submit each of the 28 proposals to a vote of the general membership. The final vote by IHSA member schools will take place between November 21 and December 5.

Proposal No. 26 which was submitted by the principals at St.Patrick and Glenbrook North High Schools looks to expand the IHSA State Playoffs from 256 teams to 512 teams while also eliminating the current Week 9 regular season game and making that Round 1 of the IHSA State Football playoffs.
