Chatham (Ill.) Glenwood sophomore offensive linemen recruit William Putnam (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) is back in practice gearing up for his 2016 sophomore season. Putnam checks in and talks about his season, his latest recruiting news and much more here.
"Practices have been going really well so far," Putnam said. "I've been getting in some good work on both sides of the ball. As of now I'm starting guard on offense and tackle on defense."
Putnam, who already has a handful of early scholarship offers is also staying in touch with a handful of college coaches this summer.
"I've been staying in touch with the coaches at Pitt and we have a good relationship still. I went down to Tennessee for a camp and a tour was was really nice. I've also been in touch a little bit with Iowa."
Putnam is also planning to get out to see a few college games this fall.
"I planning on getting out to some games. Purdue invited me to come out to a game this season a few days ago. I'm also going to work it out so I can get up to Iowa for a game."
Does Putnam set any personal goals heading into the season?
"My personal goals would really be playing the role that my team and my coaches need me to play. My goal is to lead the line in blocking and finishing my blocks. I just want to show everyone that I'm different than any other offensive linemen, or in the case this year defensive linemen as well."
