QB Beetham checks in
Yorkville (Ill) senior quarterback prospect Josh Beetham (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) has his Foxes (6-0) off to a terrific start so far this season. Beetham checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news along with recapping his senior season and more in this recruiting update.
"We are off to a good start," Beetham said. "We had a big win last Friday over Oswego East and we have another big game this Friday at Minooka." It's been a really fun senior year so far and we want to keep things rolling."
Beetham also recapped his latest recruiting news.
"My recruiting these days is really all over the place. I'm drawing interest and attention from college coaches at several levels. I've been getting PWO (Preferred Walk On) attention from bigger schools like .Kansas State, Kansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ball State plus North Carolina, Charlotte and Arkansas State. I'm also in touch with several D2 schools like Grand Valley State, Ferris State and Lindenwood. I made a game day visit to NIU a few weeks ago and that went well. I'm just going to stay focused on my season and then I'll look harder at everything once the season ends."
Does Beetham have any additional college visits planned?
"For now I don't have anything set but I definitely plan to get out to see more schools in person this fall. I've been busy lately with school and my team but hopefully I'll be able to get out to see more schools soon ."
So how has his game changed and improve this season compared to a year ago?
"I'm definitely more mobile in the pocket this year and I'm a much bigger threat to run the ball compared to last season. I'm just a more confident with the run and the pass this year. I'm also trying to be more of a vocal senior leader for my team. This team is just a group of kid who are hard workers and really not into any hype. We just go out and get it done and we've all played together now for a long time. We have a good and deep skills group and our defense has been making a lot of plays."
