QB Thorne recaps Stanford visit

Naperville (Ill.) Central (7-1) junior quarterback recruit Payton Thorne (6-foot-1, 170 pounds) was able to get out to Stanford this past weekend and took in the Cardinals win over Oregon. Thorne recaps his first impressions from Stanford and much more here.

"I had an awesome visit to Stanford," Thorne said. "It was just a great weekend and a great experience."

Thorne filled us in on his forst impressions of Stanford.

"The first thing I noticed at Stanford was that the weather was just amazing and it was sunny and 75 degrees the entire time. I had a chance to see the campus at Stanford which was awesome. We also had a chance to walk down the tunnel along with getting to sit down and eat with all of the recruits from all different sports which was great. We also had a chance to be on the field for pregame warmups and then we also went into the locker room before and after the game."

So did Thorne have a chance to talk with any of the Stanford coaches?

"The coaches talked to me about the summer camps that they have and how they would really like to see me work out for them next summer. They also said that they are going to keep track of me and also will stay in touch."

So did anything stand out to Thorne at Stanford?

"It all pretty much stood out. Everything was pretty incredible. Stanford is such a great academic school and also a great football program it's just a great place."

So what's next for Thorne?

" We play Lake Park this Friday so that's been my main focus along with school. I'm actually set to visit Wisconsin this weekend along with a few of my teammates."
