QB Tolzien adds an SEC offer

Palatine (Ill.) Fremd state ranked quarterback prospect Scott Tolzien (6-foot-2, 178 pounds) was hoping that his senior tape would be able to impress college coaches this fall. Tolzien's senior season performance has caught the eye of one SEC school this week, and Tolzien on Wednesday night added his first SEC offer and his fourth overall scholarship offer.
"I received a call from the University of Kentucky coaches tonight (Wednesday)," Tolzien said. "It was strange because this was the first call I've received from them. They said that they received my senior tape and that the entire staff was really impressed. Kentucky has offered me a scholarship."

Tolzien talked about his latest offer from the Wildcats.
"It's exciting to get an offer from the Wildcats. I really was just receiving just general mail from them before now, but we decided to send them my senior tape anyways. The coaches said that they all reviewed my tape this week and that they all agreed that I have earned an offer from them. I spoke with my recruiting coach (Chuck Smith) and then I also talked with quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper. We had a great talk, and he mentioned that he really likes my overall fundamentals and that they feel I'll be able to play in the SEC."
Tolzien is excited to draw an offer from the SEC conference.
"It's the SEC, and the SEC is just prime time football. It's a great college football conference and that alone is exciting. Kentucky is known as a basketball school, but they also really support the football program. I'm probably as excited for the fact that the Kentucky coaches had such good things to say about my senior tape. It's always great to hear good things like that, and to get an offer from the Wildcats is great."
Tolzien has yet to set any official visits, instead wanting to focus on the Vikings (6-0) season.
"I'm just waiting on things for now, basically because we sent out several senior tape, plus I don't want to get too caught up in the recruiting process over my senior season. I've been playing football with my teammates since grade school, and we've been waiting for this senior season for along time now. The last thing I want to do is to get distracted from my main focus, and I never want to let those guys down."
