RB Tricase has options
Carol Stream (Ill.) Glenbard North senior running back Vittorio Tricase (5-foot-7, 175 pounds) is simply one of the state's most exciting ball carriers and is also one of the top returning rusher for the 2016 season. Tricase checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.
"Everyone is pretty excited for the season," Tricase said. "We bring back a lot of starters on offense and our defense will be stacked. We need to figure out a few things on the offensive line and once that gets straight we have a chance to be a really good team this year."
Tricase has also been drawing steady recruiting looks and interest this summer.
"I would say that three Ivy League schools have been showing me the most interest. Harvard, Dartmouth and Princeton have been in touch on a regular basis since the spring. I visited all three schools and I also camped this summer at all three schools. NIU, Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan all have been in touch and they all want to see some of my early senior tape. The Ivy League schools also want to see how my early season goes. Bottom line is once I go out and tear it up this season everything should work out for me with my recruiting."
Tricase, who will be a three year varsity starter in 2016 for the Panthers and head coach Ryan Wilkins talked about his strengths on the field and more.
"I like to think that I have pretty good vision. I'm able to see the holes pretty quickly and I also have the speed to get to those holes. I've been able to learn from some of the great running backs at my school about running with patience. I'm better now at reading my blocks than I was a few years ago. I really focused on adding a bit more size and strength this off-season. I just felt like I needed a little more strength so I added a good 10 pounds of muscle and I can feel the different this summer."
Tricase and Glenbard North will open the 2016 IHSA football season on Friday, August 26th at DuPage Valley Conference rival Naperville Central.
