RB Warfield checks in

New Lenox (Ill.) Providence Catholic senior athlete recruit Richie Warfield (6-foot-0, 200 pounds) has remained in touch with several schools this fall. Warfield checks in and recaps his latest football recruiting news and much more in this update.

"We have a big game this week against Loyola on Saturday," Warfield said. "We need to win out the next two weeks to make the state playoffs so in reality our playoffs start this week."

Warfield has also been looking harder at his college options this fall.

"I just added an offer from Valpo. I'm still talking with several of the Ivy League schools. Both Dayton and Drake also seem pretty interested. I made a recent game visit to Grand Valley State (D2) and it was a great visit. I'm also in touch with some higher academic D3 schools like Washington University."

Warfield filled us in on his recent visit to Grand Valley State.

"I was extremely impressed with GVSU and they have a great atmosphere. I like head coach Matt Mitchell's approach and overall attitude. Coach Mitchell has great fundamental ideas and I also liked the campus and the facilities. GVSU said they like my athleticism and that they can see me playing defense for them. GVSU hasn't offered anyone yet but the GVSU coaches said they want me to stay in touch with them which is a positive."

Richie Warfield has scholarship offers from Valparaiso and Hillsdale College.
