RB Wright recaps Iowa visit

Decatur (Ill.) St. Theresa junior athlete recruit Jacardi Wright (6-foot-0, 205 pounds) was one of several land of Lincoln Class of 2019 names to visit Iowa on Sunday for a Hawkeyes Junior Day event. Wright checks in and recaps his latest Iowa visit, his latest offers and more here.

"I had a great visit today (Sunday) to Iowa," Wright said. "I also had an earlier offer from Iowa and I just enjoyed getting to look around and talk with some of the coaches and staff at Iowa."

Wright discussed what stood out to him at Iowa on Sunday.

"I just love the school at Iowa. I always just feel very comfortable whenever I'm at Iowa. Iowa also has a really good coaching staff and they are all really nice people. Iowa just has a great atmosphere. The coaches and the players all seem to be on the same page. I just liked it a lot at Iowa and the coaches said they want me to come back and visit them later this spring."

Wright also recapped his latest recruiting suitors and offers so far this winter.

"I have offers now from Iowa, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan and Central Michigan. I've also been staying in touch with several other schools like Purdue, Illinois, Michigan State and Oklahoma State. A lot of those coaches said they want me to come out and visit them this spring and they also want to get to know me better."

So which position has Wright been drawing recruiting attention and offers from schools?

"Most of the schools so far have been recruiting me as a running back. Most of the coaches ask me which position I would want to play in college and I tell them I would love to play running back."

So what has Wright been focusing on to improve his overall game this winter?

"I've been lifting and trying to add more strength and I'm also working on improving my overall agility and side to side speed. I'm also always working on my overall speed and also getting bigger, stronger and faster."

Jacardi Wright has scholarship offers from Iowa, NIU, Western Michigan and Central Michigan.
