Swartz adds an SIU offer

Rock Island (Ill.) junior offensive tackle prospect Logan Swartz (6-foot-5, 290 pounds) was able to add his first FCS level offer earlier last week from in-state Southern Illinois University. Swartz, who is wrapping up his junior year of high school this week recaps his latest recruiting news and summer plans here.

"I was able to add an offer from SIU last week," Swartz said. "I had been staying in touch with the coaches at SIU for awhile and I also visited SIU but getting the offer was a nice surprise."

Swartz discussed his impressions from adding his latest offer from Southern Illinois University.

"The SIU coaches made an in school visit earlier this month and when I visited SIU earlier this year I really liked it. I was able to talk with Coach (Trevor) Olson the offensive line coach plus head coach Nick Hill and they seem like great people. I also was able to talk with Oliver McDowell who plays for SIU now and who also played for Rocky (Rock Island). SIU also has a really nice campus and nice facilities. I'm sure I'll get down to SIU later this summer and I'm still planning to camp with them this summer."

Swartz was also able to draw plenty of recruiting attention this spring.

"It was a good spring for my recruiting and we saw a lot of college coaches in school. Recently we've seen the coaches from EIU, Bowling Green, Illinois State, Indiana State, Iowa State and also NIU. All of those schools want me to camp with them this summer."

Does Swartz have his summer camp plans set?

"I'll be camping at Lindenwood on June 2nd. I'm also going to North Central College for a camp on June 7th, Northwestern on June 9th, NIU on June 16th plus Iowa on June 24th. I'm also going to get back down to SIU on July 13th."

Swartz is also excited to get back with his team and prepare for his upcoming senior season.

"We are looking really solid. Everyone has bought in and everyone is working really hard. We have a good group back this year and some good young guys to watch out for this year."

Lgan Swartz has a scholarship offer from Southern Illinois University.
