2017 results: 4-7 (2-1) Chicago Catholic League Red Conference. Leo failed to qualify for the 2017 IHSA state football playoff field. The Lions defeated St. Joseph then lost to Fenwick in the annual Prep Bowl playoffs.

Did you know...that Leo has been playing football since 1928 and might be best known as playing in two of the largest attended high school football games of all time. In 1937 the Lions played and lost to Austin 26-0 in the annual Prep Bowl game which drew an estimated crowd of 110,000. In 1941 Leo defeated Tilden 46-13 in the Prep Bowl in a game that drew an estimated 95,000 fans. Both games were played at Soldier Field.
