According to Joliet Catholic Academy Football Head Coach and Athletic Director Dan Sharp, both OT Kris Anastopoulous (6'4" 295) and QB Craig Tomasino (6'3" 190) have made verbal committments.
"Zeus (Kris Anastopoulous) has given a verbal committment to play for Ball State University. And Craig Tomasino has given a verbal to Yale University."
Anastopolous, a 6'4" 295lb OT was without question one of the best comeback stories from the 2001 season. During his first practice of his junior (2000) year, Zeus suffered a season ending knee injury. Ananstopolous rehabbed for several months during the 2001 preseason and was able to return to the Hilltoppers lineup at 100 percent. Anastopolous was recruited by various MAC and D-1AA schools and decided upon Ball State. Anastopolous plans to major in Culinary Arts at Ball State and according to Sharp "he's really serious about cooking and is extremely talented at it. With Ball State having a Culinary Arts program for Zeus Ball State was a perfect fit!"
Craig Tomasino, a 6'3" 190lb QB also has verballed to Yale University. Tomasino, who quarterbacked the Hilltoppers to 2 straight state titles, was according to Sharp destined for the Ivy League. "Craig is just an incredibly bright young man who was able to take his smarts in the classroom and translate them onto the football field. I have no doubts that Craig will be a highly successful person in life." Tomasino was also recruited by various Ivy League schools.
JCA Senior OL Mike Kolodziej had verballed last week to the University of Michigan.
