"I just called up the coaches at Western Michign and committed," Christopher Bell said moments ago. "It feels great to commit to Western Michigan. Coach Fleck and I had some great discussions and I wanted to commit to him and Western Michigan also is committed to me. Coach Fleck told me I needed to be at Western Michigan and I agree."

Bell talked about why he pledged to the WMU Broncos.

"I really didn't feel like I was going to commit to anyone this early to be honest. But after talking with Coach (PJ) Fleck I know the Western Michigan has a lot of trust in me and that they believe in me. Western Michigan has great facilities, a great football program and I also know I'll get a great education. WMU is just a perfect fit for me."

Bell also felt like his Saturday WMU Junior Day visit sealed the deal for him.

"I've been out to visit a lot of different colleges si I feel like I've been able to see quite a few schools already. After my visit I just came back and felt I needed to commit. I wanted to show the coaches at WMU that I'm loyal. I fully plan to be playing at the next level for Western Michigan and I'm just very excited to make my decision today."

Bell is the second known Land of Lincoln recruit to pledge to the Broncos. Rockford Lutheran defensive back Marcus Haynes also gave Western Michigan his verbal commitment just minutes ago as well and announced his decision via Twitter.
