Watch List: OT Ian Fitzgerald
Lake Zurich junior offensive tackle prospect Ian Fitzgerald (6-foot-6, 280 pounds) is a big and strong offensive tackle to watch in the Class of 2018. Fitzgerald recaps his latest recruiting news and much more in this recruiting update.
"These days I'm just working out hard and I'm also going to EFT on Sundays for it's linemen camp," Fitzgerald said. "I've also been starting to hear from some schools and I also made a recent visit to Central Michigan."
Fitzgerald discussed his impression from his recent visit to Central Michigan.
"It was my first visit to Central Michigan and it went well. I had a chance to talk to the offensive line coach at CMU along with getting to learn more about the school and the football program. The coaches at CMU seems to be really interested in me and they asked me to stay in touch with them. I liked the coaches at CMU and it also seems like a nice school."
Fitzgerald has also remained in touch with a handful of college coaches this winter.
"Besides Central Michigan I've also heard from Western Michigan, Toledo and SIU. Those schools also want me to come out and visit them and I'm looking at more towards spring to go see those schools in person."
Fitzgerald described his strengths on the field along with what he plans to improve this winter
"My pass pro has improved a lot over the last few seasons. My speed has also improved and I'm able to get out and pull and get to the second level pretty well. I'm working on improving my lateral speed, quicker feet and just improving my footwork."
