Woodard talks Oklahoma State verbal

Tuscola (Ill.) junior offensive tackle recruit Hunter Woodard (6-foot-5, 295 pounds) decided to end his recruiting process this morning and gave Oklahoma State his verbal commitment. Woodard talks about his decision here.

"I committed to Oklahoma State," Woodard said. "I just felt very comfortable on my visits and it just feels like home so I committed."

Woodard discussed why he decided to pledge to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

"I just feel that Oklahoma State is simply the best place for me. They have great tradition, they are always a highly ranked program and are always playing in bowl games. Oklahoma State is just big time football. I really get along great with all of the coaches at Oklahoma State and between the relationships, the facilities and the entire program everything is just top notch. I just felt like I couldn't do any better than Oklahoma State."

So why did Woodard make sure an early commitment, especially when it seemed like his recruiting stock was beginning to take off this spring?

"I just know that Oklahoma State is the place for me. Also they are planning to take four high school offensive linemen recruits in this class and they already had two kids committed, I really did not want to miss out on the opportunity at Oklahoma State and that played a part in me committing now.

Woodard also admitted that his recent unofficial visit to Oklahoma State was what really sold Woodard on the Cowboys.

"The visit I made to Oklahoma State really blew me away. The offensive line coach Josh Henson and I have a similar background and personality and it's just a great fit for me. It's hard to describe just how amazing everything was at Oklahoma State. It's truly the best of everything you could ask for. I'm just extremely happy."
