WR O'Laughlin drawing looks

Oak Park (Ill.) Fenwick junior wide receiver Mike O'Laughlin (6-foot-5, 205 pounds) has been a big key in leading the Friars to the Class 7A state semifinals this weekend. O'Laughlin, who has an early offer from Central Michigan talks about his season, his latest recruiting news and more here.

"It's been a great season so far," O'Laughlin said. "I think the different this season is the team chemistry. This off season and summer really brought us all together and closer as a team. Starting of the season with a big win over Phillips was huge for us and the confidence just grew from that game."

O'Laughlin, who has an offer from Central Michigan was able to make a fall visit to the Home of the Chippewas.

"I still have an offer from Central Michigan. I camped at Central Michigan last summer and I also visited them when they played Western Michigan this season. I loved it at Central Michigan. I was able to get there early and I was able to talk with the coaches at CMU. Everyone was really friendly and I just liked the overall atmosphere at CMU. I also was impressed with the stadium and the facilities at CMU and overall it was an impressive visit."

O'Laughlin has also remained in touch with a growing list of schools this season.

"Besides Central Michigan I've also been in contact with Kansas State, Purdue, Illinois and Northwestern. I was able to visit Illinois last season for a game. I also visited Northwestern earlier this fall for a game."

Does O'Laughlin have a dream school?

"I have two schools that I would call dream schools. My Dad grew up in California and I always rooted for UCLA. UCLA has an amazing campus and I just love the Bruins. I also would call Wisconsin one of my dream schools. They are close to home and Wisconsin is just a great school. I also love the atmosphere in Madison."
