Nagel recaps Illinois visit

Lemont (Ill.) three star ranked junior wide receiver recruit Flynn Nagel (5-foot-11, 186 pounds) made a weekend visit to Illinois. So has the Fighting Illini's spring in-state recruiting momentum caught Nagel's attention?
"Illinois landing those in-state guys is a factor for me," Nagel said. 'Jimmy (Fitzgerald) is my quarterback for Core6 team, and we have a good relationship. Seeing those guys commit to Illinois makes me consider them more now no question."

Nagel visited Illinois last Saturday.
"I made a visit and was part of a smaller group of maybe 7-8 recruits. We just hung out for the day and it was a pretty laid back visit. I was able to just play some video games and get to hang out with the other recruits, the players and the coaches. The team had the Illini Challenge which is a fun game that the players had going on that day. I also was able to talk to the Illinois coaches. I had a great talk with Coach (Tim) Beckman and Coach (Mike) Bellamy. Illinois made it clear that they want me to join the recruiting class and will keep recruiting me pretty hard."
Nagel is also starting to see some new recruiting interest.
"Cal made an in school visit a few days ago. They just sort of showed hop in school. I was able to talk to one of the coaches later that night and he had a lot of good things to say. Cal wants to see more tape so I sent them my recent video from the Nike Camp. I'm supposed to call the Cal coaches later this week."
Nagel also has drawn more serious interest from Duke.
"Duke has already been in school once and they are planning to come back again soon. They want to come back and see me run routes and made it seem like they are pretty close to an offer."
Flynn Nagel has scholarship offer from Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Miami of Ohio, Northern Illinois, Purdue and Western Michigan.
