Pollard pledges to Ball State

Hinsdale (Ill.) Central senior safety/outside linebacker recruit Dorian Pollard (5-foot-11, 210 pounds) decided to end his recruiting process this past weekend and gave Ball State his verbal commitment.

"Ball State saw my film and they really liked it and they decided to offer me," Pollard said. "I visited Ball State twice and my visit on Saturday really sold me on the school so I committed."

Pollard, who was offered by the BSU Cardinals as an outside linebacker recruit filled us in on why he decided to pledge on Saturday.

"I just loved my visit on Saturday to Ball State. The coaching staff at Ball State really stood out to me. They are just great guys and they just project a family feel. I also really was surprised at how great Ball State is after my first visit. I just didn't Ball State to offer as much as they have to offer. Ball State also offers me a chance to come in and compete right away for playing time."

Pollard had planned to make a summer college choice from very early on in his recruiting process.

"I really didn't like the recruiting process at all to be honest. I was ready to make a decision and after my visit to Ball State on Saturday I was ready. I'm just really happy to have recruiting done. I wasn't a big fan of all of the travel to schools and camps. I just found a great place to call home in Ball State."

Pollard can now focus on his upcoming senior season.

"Just being able to have my recruiting done and not have it be an issue during the season was important to me. I just look forward to focusing on my team from here on out and having a great senior year."

Dorion Pollard is verbally committed to Ball State.
