Watch List: OL Tyler Elsbury

Byron (IL) sophomore offensive tackle recruit Tyler Elsbury (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) is already drawing college attention this spring. Elsbury recaps his recent recruiting attention and much more. Get to know this latest Class of 2020 on the rise name here.

"I'm playing baseball this spring along with lifting for football," Elsbury said. "I've also been in contact with some college coaches and Iowa made a recent in school vist."

Elsbury, who is a three sport varsity athlete (football/wresting and baseball) at Byron filled us in on his recent recruiting attention.

"I've been in contact with the coaches from Iowa, Northwestern, Miami of Ohio, Arkansas plus Northern Arizona. Notre Dame has also sent camp information. I've been able to make visits so far to Iowa and Northwestern."

Elsbury also filled us in on what his focus has been in regards to improving his overall game this off season.

"I've been working hard on improving my overall technique including my pass pro. I definitely want to get stronger and add a bit more muscle for this coming season. I would say that my strengths are that I give it everything I have all the time. I'm also a very competitive player and once I get on the field it's like I flip a switch and become a totally different person."

Elsbury is also excited to take his game to another level this coming season.

"Last season was my first year on the varsity and the game was a lot faster. I also went against kids who were bigger and more mature. It was an adjustment period but I felt that once we got to mid season I was fully up to speed. I'm excited to just take my game to another higher level this season ."

Does Elsbury have an upcoming spring and summer camp plans?

"I'm going to The Opening in Canton this weekend. I'm also looking at camping this summer at Iowa and also Northwestern. I'm also going to the Rivals Three Stripe Camp in Chicago on May 20th."

So does Elsbury have a dream school?

"Iowa is my dream school. My Mom and Dad went to Coe College in Iowa and my Dad grew up in Iowa. Sean Considine who played at Iowa also played at Byron so we've always had a connection to the Hawkeyes."
